Should I have you manage my hosting or do it on my own?
The final decision about where to host your site is up to you. If you feel that you can find a better deal somewhere else, please go for it. However, most clients find it is easier for them to let me manager their hosting and email. I will handle all setup functions and deal with tech support should problems occur for as long as your site is under contract.
If you do decide to host your site with someone else, all you have to do is provide me with access information to your hosting account so that I can setup your site for you.
Do you own your own servers?
No, I do not own the servers I use for hosting. I lease server space from another company. Keeping web servers running and secure is a full time job. If I were to try to do this as well as design web sites I would never get anything done in a timely fashion. The company I lease servers from has an excellent service record, and has better than 99% uptime.
